Updating of personal details held in the Union Registry and for EU Login

Updating of personal details in the Union Registry

The following personal details are held in the Union Registry, allowing the unique identification of a person as a user within the Union Registry: first name, last name, details on the identity document (type of document, identity document number, expiry date), e-mail address, mobile phone number, MUDI - Mobile Unique Device Identifier and secret question and answer.

Changes to personal details held in the Union Registry have to be carried out as follows:

1) Users initiate one or more changes by logging into the Union Registry and using the "Edit your personal details" link. This creates a 7-digit request number.

2) The user sends an E-Mail message including information about the change (impacted fields, new values) and including the 7-digit request number to the following e-mail addresse:
registerstelle@umweltbundesamt.at

The Emissions Trading Registry will be happy to provide you with a pre-filled form once the changes in the Union Registry have been requested.

3) Updates of details relating to the identity document (type of document, identity document number and expiry date) have to be supported by providing a copy of the identity document (valid passport, identity card or a document that is accepted as a personal identification document under the national law of the national administrator), certified as a true copy by a notary public, by post (the date of the certification must not be more than three months before the date of the request).

Updating of personal details in EU Login (e-mail address, mobile device, mobile phone number)

Access to the Union Registry is enabled via EU Login, the European Commission’s authentication service. Your unique user identification is created through your e-mail address and a password, and to access the Union Registry you have to give a mobile device on which the EU Login Mobile App is installed. If the old authentication method (mobile phone + SMS) is still used, a mobile phone number must be entered in the EU login account. Please note that the last-mentioned authentication method is only available until 7 January 2022. Therefore, a switch to the new authentication method EU Login Mobile App with QR code is necessary.

If you change your e-mail address, your mobile device or mobile phone number, it is necessary to update these data on EU Login as well. Use the following link for the update.

Login to EU Login account

To access the Union Registry, use the (old) data that you have used so far (old e-mail address, old mobile device or mobile phone number) and the last used authentication method (Mobile phone + SMS or if you already switched to the new authentication method please use EU Login Mobile App QR Code).

Select “My account” using the gear icon next to your name, and then “Modify my personal data” to change your e-mail address, or “Manage my mobile devices” to change the mobile device or “Manage my mobile phone numbers” to change your mobile phone number.

If you cannot access your old mobile device or your old mobile phone number (depending on the used authentication method), please contact the Austrian Emissions Trading Registry for further assistance.
