Independent verifiers
For the verification of emissions from stationary installations as well as for the verification of emissions and tonne kilometer data from aviation activities, independent verifiers must be accredited in accordance with §14 of the Austrian Emissions Allowances Act (EZG) 2011 as amended.
Verifiers must register in the Austrian part of the Union Register (verifier account) in order to be able to enter and confirm verified emissions in the accounts of those installation or aircraft operators for which they are nominated as the responsible verifier.
The emissions from the operators (installation and aircraft operators) covered by emissions trading are determined at the end of each calendar year and checked by an independent verifier.
By March 31, the verified emissions for the previous calendar year are to be entered and confirmed by the authorized representatives of a verifier account in the respective operator accounts in the Austrian part of the Union Registry.
Open verifier accounts can be retrieved in the Union Registry Public Website:
1. Calling the website of the Union Registry Public Website
2. Select the “Accounts” menu item under Emission Trading System on the top
3. Now select “Austria” under “National Administrator” and “Verifier” under “Account Type”; Check if “Open” is selected under “Account status" → then click on “Show as table”
4. If you want to have additional information select a Account Holder by clicking on the Name and then click on “Operator Details” in the bottom right
Detailed information about accreditations may be retrieved through the website of Accreditation Austria through their database application to query publicly available information on accredited conformity assessment bodies.
