Updating of account information in the Union Registry

Changes affecting the account information held in the Union Registry have to be made as follows:

1.)   An authorised representative initiates the change to the account details directly in the Union Registry using the “Update” function key. This creates a 7-digit request number.

2.)   A written request, duly signed by the account holder, has to be submitted, either by sending the original document by post or, if an electronic signature is used (in accordance with Annex I or III of Regulation (EU) No 910/2014), as an attachment to an email, supported by the following information:

  • Name of account holder
  • Account number
  • Account name
  • Description of the change (relevant fields, new values)
  • 7-digit request number

If desired, the Austrian Emissions Trading Registry will be happy to provide you with a pre-filled form once the changes in the Union registry have been requested.


3.)   For some changes, supporting information has to be provided, depending on the field value that needs to be changed, the account type and the country issuing the documents.  
In such cases, the Austrian Emissions Trading Registry will inform the account representatives about the necessary documents and their formal requirements.
